Jon was born in the small city of Enderby, British Columbia, Canada, the youngest of 5 children. He grew up surrounded by all styles of music. He taught himself to play drums and played his first professional gig at the age of 14 and from that moment on he was hooked. Jon played in various bands through the prosperous 1980's, sharing stages with the likes of k.d. lang and the Reclines, Dr. Hook, and the Powder Blues Band to name a few. In 1988 he ventured into a dinner theatre in Vernon, BC and after a few too many orange juices declared "I need to do this!". He spent the next 33 years as an actor, comedian, drummer, guitarist, and bassist at Maz n Me's Revue Theatre Restaurant and the Giggle Dam Dinner Theatre, the last 18 months as Music Director. During those years he also played drums in the bands Krysis and then CLONE.

When Covid hit, all gigs were cancelled and during the down time Jon realized that he really just wanted to play drums. He left the dinner theatre life in August of 2021 and as luck would have it, was ecstatic to be offered the drum throne for the renowned March Hare Band in October that same year. With March Hare, Jon enjoys playing his favourite music from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's, as well as performing with their incredible tribute show band, American Rock Legends. As well as being a featured entertainer, Jon has also been a mentor and judge for two seasons of the Dare To Shine singing competition and is currently on the board of directors for the Vancouver International Music Business Conference (VIMBC).
